Don't the German prosecutors know the difference between merely comparing someone to someone else (e.g., "He is as fat as Goehring") and equating him with someone else (e.g., "He is a Nazi or is as bad as a Nazi")?
By the way, the original German was: "schlimmsten geistigen Brandstifter" - i.e., the "worst arsonist in spirit".
By the way, even in Germany, politicians are considered "public persons," and it is much more difficult to prove slander against them. Otherwise, Herta Daeubler-Gmelin - who likewise was once Germany's Minister of Justice, from 1998 to 2002 - and who once compared, in a public speech, Pres. George W. Bush to "Adolf Nazi" [sic!], would likewise have to be "investigated."
Regards,
That’s the technical realities and maybe that’s even how their courts will grind it out. But in the meantime we get to see such FABULOUS P.C. knee jerking.
