Houston's controversial equal rights ordinance failed by a wide margin Tuesday, with voters opting to repeal the law that offered broad non-discrimination protections, according to incomplete and unofficial returns. The hotly contested election has spurred national attention, drawing comment from the White House and the state's top officials. Largely conservative opponents of the law allege that it would allow men dressed as women, including sexual predators, to enter women's restrooms. Supporters of the law, including Mayor Annise Parker, argue that it extends an important local recourse for a range of protected classes to respond to discrimination.

Feds will be making this “Law of the Land” shortly anyway!
Well I guess it wasn't really that "controversial," was it?
Mayor Anus Porker is deeply saddened.
They dont like it when the will of the people has spoken.
So glad to hear that HERO is crashing down in flames.
LOL! Love your nickname for the dyke.
I would think a comment or two on these results would be forthcoming.
OH NOES so this means that freaks of nature who want to wear dresses can’t go into women’s bathrooms and stare at women tinkling what a pity/sarc
this means lance berkman is disqualified from the hall of fame. i’d rather qualify for god’s all-star team.
The very idea that we now have “a range of protected classes” is blood-boiling
I guess a federal judge will have the election thrown out in less than a week. I hope not, but it’s happened before.
That's mediaspeak. "Controversial" is the media label for things they don't like. You would never see it applied to a leftist.
Thank God that bulldyke Mayor Annise Parker was term-limited.
Well, it seems Houston has a lick of sense. On the other hand, da baf-a-room bill is law from one end of Maryland to the other.
Combined General and Maryland “Freak State” PING!
I’d recommend that the mayor of Houston run out and pick up an e.coli order at Chipotle.
“iâd rather qualify for godâs all-star team.”
Me and you, amigo

Yeah, allege...
Whoever is involved with this moral filth is simply going to have to suffer consequences. Just voting this down is not enough.
