Idiots. That’s the safe way to carry an unloaded over and under or double barrel shotgun.
I was taught to have it “broken” as shown, but to have the barrel down and in front. The shorter stock sticking out behind you is less of a hazard. Although it took me awhile to get over my aversion of getting finger prints/oil all over the barrels.
But not that big of a deal.
