What the hell is in Syria that we WANT so bad?

We would need to ask the muslim brotherhood. Obama seems to follow their wishes.

Once Assad is gone it’s the perfect place for Hussein’s Caliphate. We are, once again, on the wrong side.

Syria is the crossroad for 2 proposed oil & gas pipelines that will transport from the ME to Europe. One pipeline originates in Iran — that one is supported by Syria & Russia. The other originates in the Gulf and is supported by Saudi Arabia and (guess who). This is why Obama has said that the Syrian regime must go. But since no one over here would salute that proposition, the excuse now is “to fight ISIS”.

But of course the guys that we are arming “to fight ISIS” basically ARE Isis. It is there goal to get rid of Asad. That is why the Russians are bombing “our guys”.

There is basically 2 parallel wars going on in Syrian territory. Instead of a proxy war, the real belligerents are, for now, studiously avoiding shooting at eachother. That can’t last.

I would believe you if it were just Obama. But to have the Generals go along with this crap is just crazy.

I do not doubt that we could beat Russia in a face-off. But why would we want to? What national interest do we have in Syria?

I understand our interest in the middle east in General, but Syria’s civil war? It just doesnt make sense.

The pipeline project makes sense. But enough to take on the Ruskies?
