Mr. Obama will direct the federal Office of Personnel Management to delay inquiries into criminal history until later in the hiring process for federal jobs, so that applicants are not rejected before having a chance to impress.

Hey. Finally he does something that I can agree with. Its a damn shame that Republicans aren't doing more to take the lead on helping ex-cons by making it easier for them to get a job. I'm not saying ban looking into their criminal histories but there are things that can be done.

I don’t disagree with your compassion. But these inmates are being released early. Statistically 68 percent of them will be arrested and re-incarcerated within three years. Some of them will be arrested within three days.
