Yep . . . and from around 1920-1960, the Arabs were actually grateful to us for ending their domination by the Turks.

And from roughly 1922-1992, the Turks were grateful to us for ending their domination by the caliphate. We and the Turks both loved Ataturk for breaking the yoke of Islam.

What happened?
