Joe Paterno fired Sandusky immediately when the first accusation was alleged. Paterno barred the pervert from all sports facilities. PSU administration lifted the ban, told Paterno to shut up, and planted stories to friendly media writers and TV reporters that Joe was losing it and would be fired.
