I’ve also read that some app makers have removed the swastika from historical games, in order to satisfy censors in Germany (really).

True. I worked on one.

The law in Germany is that it’s FORBIDDEN to show swastikas - You can talk about nazi-ism but they want that element buried.

We didn’t really censor our content at all (a WW2 simulation) as the nazis were still there and the wars and battles were (mostly) historically accurate but we did replace all swastika icons with the iron cross because we WERE going to sell the game in Europe and Germany and didn’t want to make two sets of art for the game. But that was the only change we made. (In fact we had some German translators on staff that were upset that we kept digging up German history to make them look bad.)
