We're doing a little better than last quarter, but we need to pick up the pace a little more if we're going to complete this fundraiser before the end of the second month. An oldie and a goodie

Louie and I slept very late and then fortified the yard because this street doesn’t accept trick-or-treators’ due to the fact that for years “parents, aunts, uncles, etc.” from other neighborhoods would drop their kids over here and leave them for the full 2 hours. All of us would run out of candy within the first 45 minutes, and we’re talking $50-$75 worth of candy from each house! So, about 5 years ago, we all decided that we’d gather at only one house to dispense the candy together and leave the rest of our houses dark.
I don’t feel like taking Louie to the “gathering” -— raining all day, but rain has stopped now -— but I haven’t yet figured out exactly how I’m going to manage to light this room so I can be here without the lights being seen from the street...LOL. Lace curtains, ya know? Too bad I don’t have enough tinfoil on hand!
The rule her is; you have to turn on your front porch light if you want trick-or-treaters.

Same here. Keep all outdoor lights off, and keep the lights inside to a minimum. Don't answer the door. We've done that every year since we moved here, because if even two families drove down our driveway, it could cause a problem, especially in the dark.
