Insightful comments about his references (at the source) to history and their importance to our Republic, are encouraged and welcome.
Obnoxious
I fail to see how saying “I don’t know much about it [Seventh-Day Adventism]” constitutes a “dis.” Please explain.
His points are obnoxious?
>> When Donald disparages Ben Carson’s faith, and Carson’s longstanding adherence to the doctrines of Seventh-Day Adventists, Trump trashes the core of American exceptionalism-religious liberty and religious toleration.
Red herring, and totally false!
The second amendment guarantees Ben Carson’s right to practice and evangelize seventh day Adventism, or Presbyterianism, or voodoo, or no religion at all.
The second amendment does NOT guarantee Ben Carson freedom from criticism for the belief system he has chosen, especially as it might influence a public office for which he is running.
Trump is not suggesting Carson drop or modify his religious views. Trump IS suggesting that the religious views Carson holds might be a detriment to his performance as POTUS. That’s fair game. I happen to agree with it — anyone remember the debate during which Carson suggested he’d talk to Afghanistan instead of bombing them? THAT IS A DIRECT OUTCOME OF HIS PACIFISM AS A SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST, folks!
Put another way — the FIRST amendment gives Trump the right to criticize Carson, and the SECOND amendment gives Trump the right to suggest that Carson’s beliefs ought to be different — right?
Who are you supporting now? Or are you just on your usual trash Trump jihad?
Why do you think Trump mentioned Carson’s faith at all?
“Donald Trump speaking in Jacksonville, Florida yesterday: “I love Iowa. And, look, I don’t have to say it, I’m Presbyterian. Can you believe it? Nobody believes I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. I’m Presbyterian. Boy, that’s down the middle of the road folks, in all fairness. I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don’t know about. I just don’t know about.”
Trump has some flaws no doubt but he’s no hardcore leftist like Bammy or his puppet Hellary. If Cruz could win over many Dems he would be the man. And if a flawed Trump wins the WH he would be a major upgrade over the dreck in there now.
I’m appalled by Trump.
I have no candidate.
What a crock article. Yet another Trump hit piece by American Thinker. It sucks to be them.
At least it isn’t the daily Walker database dump....seems to come only once or twice a week now. I also especially like the prerequisites dictated about responding, etc....
>> I have no candidate.
Why not Ted Cruz?
Do you also agree with Trump's position on eminent domain (among his other liberal positions and statements)?
Because its a GOPe shill.
Seems to me that the 2nd Amendment talks about the right to bear arms.
It’s early yet—maybe my brain is still fogged.
>> I also especially like the prerequisites dictated about responding, etc....
Hey, it’s a legitimate suggestion. It’s also perfectly acceptable to ignore it. Especially for a monthly contributor to the forum’s coffers. ;-)
I’ve never dissed Cruz (he’s a good, smart conservative), I just don’t know if he can get enough votes to keep Hillary from taking the White House and destroying what’s left with 8 years of rule.
I noticed that and, of course, ignored it.
