Russian airliner Flight KGL9268 crashes in central Sinai

A Russian airliner has crashed in central Sinai with more than 200 people on board, the office of Egypt's prime minister has confirmed.
The Airbus A-321 had just left the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, bound for the Russian city of St Petersburg.
Wreckage of the plane has been found in the Hassana area and bodies removed. An official described a "tragic scene".
Flight KGL9268 disappeared from radar screens when travelling at 9,500m (31,000ft), Egyptian officials said.

Went off the radar 23 minutes into the flight, at 5,000 feet.
Per Flightradar 24, max Altitude was 11,000 feet.

If going to St. Petersburg, it probably was hit in the middle of Egypt, not flying over Syria or Iraq or even near Israel.

Several of the Radical Pali groups in Sinai declared allegiance to ISIS last winter. They have fought with and dozens of Egyptian Army troops since then.

It is down report of it being in Turkey are wrong.
The passengers were mostly Russian tourists who had been on holiday in the Sinai resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.
