The poll definitely got the debate winner and loser correct.

Glad to see Cruz on the rise. There’s no way he would spike up to 2nd place just because of the debate. But he’s moving in the right direction and has a chance to catch some momentum.

There’s no earthly reason why anyone who knows Cruz’ record should pick Carson over Cruz. Cruz has done more to defend religious and moral concerns than Carson has. He defended religious liberty cases at the Supreme Court and he showed up to defend Kim Davis this year. Where was Carson on that one? And obviously Carson doesn’t hold a candle to Cruz on his depth of knowledge on economic and national security issues. Trump and Cruz should be the top two.

The reality is that people who weren’t paying attention to politics during the Obamacare filibuster/shutdown know very little about Cruz. He just looks like another face on the stage to them. Cruz’ challenge is to get his bio and the evidence of his convictions out there. He needs to talk more about himself than simply about his current positions on the issues.

Correct. Many here should take the time to listen to Cruz’s speeches before the Senate. They should also look at his education and resume. The man has incredible skills. For instance, he memorized the Constitution when he was in high school.

I think Cruz would make a great President. I also think Carson could be the more electable of the two, as the polls currently indicate, by the way.

But when you talk policy and then put Trump on top of even Cruz, you lose credibility completely. Trump has supported, and in the future probably will support, nationalized healthcare. Carson will go the other direction. That alone justifies picking Carson over Trump.

As for Trump’s immigration stance, remember that big open door in the fence with welcome written on it, and ask yourself just how big it will be. Trump is a fake, from word go.

By the way, as ridiculous as that CNBC graph of the language level spoken by the candidates, it was precious that Trump was at the bottom, speaking at the level of an early 5th grader. I have a 2nd grade grandson who also speaks at about that level. They’d probably get along great, except my grandson doesn’t resort to insults to settle matters. He does occasionally mope like Trump, however, when he isn’t getting his way.
