(Newser) - A twist in the story of the South Carolina school resource officer fired after a classroom arrest turned violent - and went viral: About 100 Spring Valley High School students peacefully walked out of class Friday morning and gathered in the school's atrium to show support for former deputy Ben Fields and ask that he be given his job back. The school principal called the protest "an orderly student-led activity" and noted, "I addressed the students to let them know that we understood their need to make their voices heard. Then I reminded them that Spring Valley high is all about the business of teaching and learning, so it's time to go back to class." Within less than 10 minutes, the students peacefully went back to class, he said, per The State.

“”FFS, just shut up.””

Have no idea what your insult means but when were we told we could not voice a different opinion on FR or FACTS as presented by someone who was present at the time of the episode?

Completely ignoring the teacher and administrator doesn’t show “shy”, it shows defiance and arrogance.....but, to her classmate, I’m sure the definition of shy “fits”....LOL

Oh! Excuse me! I didn’t realize that you were actually there! I thought you were relying on the word of an 18 yr. old classmate of the 16 yr. old....who, such a coinky-dink, was arrested on the same charge as her ‘shy” classmate. The one who started screeching for everyone to “get their phones out”....kind of like a pre-arranged event?? hmmmm

Again, sorry, didn’t realize you were physically there for the show

It’s time for the parents to show en masse.

He has 100 football fans, anyway.

I thought I read that the girl hit him when he tried to peacefully escort her out of the classroom. Did she get injured? She should not be attacking adults...

"The 16-year-old girl who was taken to the ground was arrested on a charge called “disturbing schools.” A classmate, Niya Kenny, 18, was also arrested on the same charge."

Hmmmm I seem to recall an eerily similar paradigm. Oh that's right, Dorian Johnson told the REAL story about Michael Brown.

The leftist establishment will never change its mind. The cop is white and the brat black.

"When I saw the video I noticed that all of the other kids, all black, were well behaved and sitting at their desks. They want to get an education. They were probably glad to see that little disruptive monster removed."

I noticed that, too.

Even the (black) teacher just goes about his business.

I'm sure he was the one who called for help when the student was being a little $hit.

Had the officer been a black man, we'd have NEVER heard of this incident.

Video exists of her punching the cop, but even without that, how do you suggest he remove her from the classroom?

And, "what if that were MY child??!!" Are you joking?! My children have never, will never, and would never act that way, anywhere, to anyone. I guess having your daughter being forcibly brought into compliance is something you've had to contemplate. You should keep that fact to yourself.

Good grief - where do you get your news? I wonder what you would have to say if that had been your son or daughter slammed to the floor and being thrown across the classroom!

This was being discussed on Chicago AM talk radio, ad nauseum. It was kind of a guy vs. gal thing, where the female participant just wouldn't let go of the horrible excess angle, and the male wasn't so sure. They would go to a break, then come back and start up all over again.

Well, that night, they showed the clip on the news. The whole thing took maybe 3 or 4 seconds. She went down to the floor, to be sure, but now the cop was finally in charge and took her up. I wrestled in high school, and I didn't see anything beyond a takedown. I was dumbfounded that this had become such a cause celebre. It's alarming to me. That's they way they do it. It's mind control.

You honestly think that just happened in a vacuum? Even with it already said that there’s a lot that’s not being said by the general issue, lie through its teeth, turn out the weak and stupid, media?
