The plague exists in the U.S. without the help of "diseased illegal aliens". While it did come here from elsewhere, it's been here for over 100 years.
“Exists” and “an increase in cases this year” are two very separate things.
I believe it came from Asia with rats on ships carrying Chinese immigrants in the 1800s. Unless illegals are carrying rodents with them, they don’t have anything to do with the “increase”. I don’t believe humans carry the disease.
Its important to note that there are only a handful of cases every year so it only takes a few to double the number. (2 is twice as many as 1)
Most recent examples of Plague have been seen in the immigrants entering from the Southern border. Several of the children that showed up in this country over the last two years have had plague.
Now it is unlikely that this particular case came from them. There is no reason not to use this case to highlight the serious health risks associated with unregulated immigration. After all we should never let a good crisis go to waste.

AND it’s not super-rare in Colorado; we nearly always get a few cases every summer, usually (but not always) from idiots that let their dogs romp around chasing prairie dogs in infected colonies.
Even most of the the idiot libs trying to “save” these vermin know better than to touch the damn things.
