Hillary Clinton to call for end to cocaine sentencing disparity

Fulfilling a longtime wish-list item of criminal justice reformers, Hillary Clinton on Friday will call for ending the sentencing disparity between powder and crack cocaine as part of a larger criminal justice reform plan aimed in part at winning support in the African-American community.

At an event with African-American leaders in Atlanta, Clinton is expected to say that the current system, which doles out far longer prison sentences for crack cocaine than for an equal amount of powder cocaine, is racially discriminatory since African-Americans are more likely to use crack.

Playing to her base AND her husband - as “Ears in Chief” begins to release 40,000-plus convicted felons back on the streets of our communities.

Somehow I don’t think she intends to get rid of the disparity by increasing the penalties for powder cocaine.

Yes ... she’s pandering to the parasite class and to the criminal class, which form a big part of her base.

100 million unemployed or underemployed and Hillary thinks the big issue is crack or powdered cocaine sentencing?

And global warming and female pay disparity and online gambling and why are lesbians so fat?

Good. Because if she wins, I’m going to start smoking crack.

She probably wants their sentences reduced to just before the presidential election.

“At an event with African-American leaders in Atlanta, Clinton is expected to say that the current system, which doles out far longer prison sentences for crack cocaine than for an equal amount of powder cocaine, is racially discriminatory since African-Americans are more likely to use crack.”

Here’s the difference. The Republican would make powder cocaine sentences stronger to match crack cocaine and the Democrat will lower the crack cocaine sentence to match the one for powder.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t crack sentences stiffer than those for the same quantity of powder cocaine, because the crack form is a much more potent and addictive “concentrate” of the same chemicals?

So let’s transfer her thinking to arms control. Does Hillary believe a kilogram of “yellow cake” uranium ore is as dangerous as a kilogram of highly concentrated U235? Should possession of equal quantities be treated the same?

Hillary Clinton to call for end to cocaine sentencing disparity.

Hillary should be on crack. Over my lifetime, i've known quite a few people who were addicted to crack. Crack and ordinary cocaine are not even remotely the same as regards their addictive properties.

Crack is astonishingly addictive. People can try cocaine, and then walk away from it. Crack generally addicts people on the very first try. That is why it is so popular in the drug culture. Dealers like it because it hooks people almost immediately, and addicts like it because the high is quick and much stronger than with cocaine.

Once more, Hillary is an idiot, pandering to the perpetually angry black "social justice warriors" who see racism lurking behind every difference between black and white. A rational person might as well be asking why crack is so prevalent amongst the ghetto communities rather than cocaine. If the two are the same, why don't they have an equal balance in usage?

They are not the same. Crack is far worse.

She is also pledging to do away with ATM fees.

Don’t discount how many low-infos will be drawn to the polls by THAT.

I’m also for ending the disparity.

You get caught with either, you have 3 months to get off of it for good, or up against the wall. You deal either, up against the wall. Bullets don’t discriminate, and we don’t need these criminals in our society (because ALL users except the very wealthy end up stealing to support their habit, causing accidents, etc.).

Think the witch and the FSA will go for it?

The libertarian in me says, "leave it up to the states," but the adult in me says, "there's more to life than being stoned on weed, and the issue is very low in terms of priorities."

Its not just that there's more to life than being high, it is whether society, in the form of government, is going to send a signal to everyone that its just fine to ingest mind-altering drugs. It'll do wonders for our competitiveness, and wonders for our military, police, etc. to have a doped-up society.

You know, libertarian ideas sound great in theory, but a few of them are utter crap when it comes to practice.

Well, if she came out for free daily BJs from porn stars (with make-up, please), then I might even give her campaign a look.

There's simply no end to the childishness, immorality and selfishness of the FSA - they just go for whoever promises them the most, with no thought or regard for who's paying for it, or what the effects on society are.

Len Bias. First round draft pick of the Boston Celtics. Took years for the franchise to recover from his death.
