I'll be interested in seeing what Dr. Carson has to say about this. One observation I'll make is that the article says he claimed his SYMPTOMS went away from the junk science treatment. That's entirely different from saying he was cured, as anyone who has taken medicine to deal with cold or flu symptoms can attest.

That might mean this whole attack is just a distorted smear campaign. Or maybe not. I agree that he does need to fully answer the question of why he gave his name and reputation to an organization like Mannatech and their highly questionable products, and why he claimed he had no association with them.

But trying to get a distortion free picture is no FUN. It’s much more FUN to come up with the worst loosely plausible view based on the most cursory observation. (That kind of thing probably drives most religious disputes in Christendom.)
