Having grown up during the Cold War, I am awkwardly uncomfortable feeling stronger support for Russiaâs president than for Americaâs.
The root of that feeling comes from not wanting to accept that the American president is a more dedicated marxist than the Russian one, and that we lost the Cold War, effectively, because we allowed at least a couple of generations of Americans to be indoctrinated with socialist ideology. Joseph McCarthy was right.
