A “hit” is relative and general in Russian terms. “Perfect is the enemy of good enough,” even when good enough is a miss.
The U.S. Is only 70 sorties behind!
Concur.. every bomb or any type of ordnance that’s released, dropped or fired hit’s something.
Opie is not pleased.
Perhaps they aren’t perfectly accurate...but they are definitely hitting a lot of targets, even if not every one that they aim at. So they are doing a LOT more than we are.
More to the point, the targets, mostly suffering from the genetic problem of 50 generations of cousin-marriage, poor education and, when educated, indoctrination in a “religion” that doesn’t exactly encourage critical thought - these guys just know that lots of infidels with loud jets are dropping bombs on them, and they are running for the hills, even more disjointed, disorganized and combat ineffective than usual.
Thus, hit or miss, it is effective in its own way.
For all his faults (and he has a LOT), Putin’s military is killing his and our nation’s enemy and breaking things. IOW, they are be allowed to do their job.
Wish I could say that about our military under Obama.

“A hit is relative and general in Russian terms. Perfect is the enemy of good enough, even when good enough is a miss.”
If it hit an area the rebels control and made them miserable, it’s awesome.
Air power is fine and dandy, but Russia needs to commit boots on the ground to start mopping up all the detritus still alive.
“...Russia needs to commit boots on the ground to start mopping up all the detritus still alive.”
Why? That is what the United States has been doing since 1917, and what tangible gain has it brought us in 98 years? What prestige do we enjoy? What nation or people looks towards us with gratitude? The Russians are smart to use other people as cannon fodder, and the survivors might - just MIGHT - have a bit more investment in their victory and their future.
Putin has categorically ruled that out.
In other words, the Russians bombed anything that moved, anything that was stationary, and anything in-between.
Collateral damage is not in the Russian dictionary.
finesse is also a word not found in Russian dictionaries.
The Russians will use a sledge hammer when a fly swatter would have sufficed.
