I'm sure there is no castle doctrine in any European country. I remember the British farmer who was imprisoned for having the audacity to defend himself. I wonder what the consequences are elsewhere in Europe. At least my home state and my winter state have castle doctrine, so I'm good to go...until Hitlery goes Australian on us.

No he wasn’t imprisoned for defending himself, he was imprisoned for shooting them after they had fled the house and he pursued them, shooting one of them as he was cowering in some bushes.

I do appreciate that Americans like to believe that they rougher, tougher and freer than those limp-wristed limeys but rest assured, if you do that in most jurisdictions in the US you will also do some serious jail time.
