These are troubled times for the two Republican golden boys from Florida. Former governor Jeb Bush and Sen. Marco Rubio are seeing their prospects for winning their partys presidential nomination crumble as billionaire Donald Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson lead the polls.
Bush, 62, the scion of a powerful political family, has seen his once promising prospects and fundraising prowess fade after he repeatedly failed to find a voice that could animate his party, show he was truly his own man and transcend his ties to the GOP political establishment.
Rubio, 44, the quintessential young man with strong ties to the Hispanic community, leaped into the presidential contest with less than one full term in the Senate under his belt. Since then, he has been tarnished among conservatives by his previous support for immigration reform, including a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants.
Neither man is doing well in the polls: Bush, the one-time frontrunner, scored just 7 percent in the latest Washington Post/ABC News national poll, while Rubio was just ahead of him with 10 percent.

It’s YOUR fault, you STOOOOOPID VOTERS, who do not appreciate my brilliance!
Does that sum-up the attitude of the GOPe in one easy sentence or WHAT??
Trumps support has held steady during the past month; 32 percent of Republican and GOP-leaning voters back him, compared with 33 percent in early September. The numbers suggest that mixed reviews of his performance in the second Republican debate in California did little to dampen the enthusiasm of his supporters. Carson, meanwhile, has ticked up from 20 percent to 22 percent.
The only other Republican in double digits among registered Republicans and Republican-leaning independents is Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, at 10 percent. That represents a three-point increase in a month, within the polls six-point margin of sampling error.
Former Florida governor Jeb Bush runs fourth at 7 percent, followed by Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 6 percent and former Hewlett-Packard chief executive Carly Fiorina at 5 percent. No one else registers above 3 percent among Republican-leaning voters.
It is all over but the crying.
True, but that new CBS poll out this morning has me a little worried. Don’t know if the polls are rigged or if Trump is losing some support...
And not so 'previous' either. Rubio is owned by the Cheap Labor Express, which apparently doesn't care whether he ever votes on other important bills in the Senate or not.
There will be some fluctuation in polls. The important thing is the string of primaries themselves. Trump might lose Iowa to Carson, because Iowa loves to be quirky. But if Trump wins NH and SC and then Florida... I think it will all be over but the shouting.
From your words to God’s Ears!!!
It’s going to be a suspenseful season.
Margin of error in that poll was 7%.
Rigged like a Colonial Frigate.
[Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 6 percent]
CRUZ is at 10 and rising steadily.
Jeb Bush has to stand on his tippi toes so his poll numbers will appear to be higher. Dumbass
Even if one were to like Bush and/or Rubio as presidential candidates, he would have to admit that neither has the leadership gene.
In these troubled times we need someone we can follow into battle. If elected, any Republican president is going to face a serious battle. Considering the anger of voters they may not have the majorities in both houses. Even if they do, since so many Republican legislators are actually Democrats anyway, what difference does it make.
Trump and Cruz have the intestinal fortitude. Either of them could face the horrific fight.
Wow...7%!
I didn’t know that...
LOL!!!
Wow. Who exactly is Carson???
You place credence in a CBS poll?
