Edwards is a hard core liberal democrat.
Just a few weeks until the election.
Bttt
Is this Edwards any relation to former Edwards who went to jail?
“State Rep. John Bel Edwards surprise showing in Saturdays election”
It was not really a surprise showing; he consolidated the democrat vote, whereas the Republicans candidates split the Republican vote.
It’s not a sure bet Vitter will win either. He’s in this pickle solely because of his own actions.
No. West Point grad though, class of '88.
No relation.
The voter turn out for the election in Louisiana was 38.5%.
How does that compare with recent governor elections?
No known relationship.
More to do with some very corrupt media!
Turn out was horrible. Way down
Jindal was elected with about a 45% turnout four years ago.
Perhaps so.
But then simple math also says that the State is 50% registered D’s and only 25% registered R’s.
The key is heal the the rift between the three Republican factionS and consolidating them behind Vitter.
Because one simple option is that just th Vitter and the Edwards vote in the runoff.
You have to keep in mind that Louisiana Dems are easily the most self-deluded in the nation. They lie to themselves as easily as they lie to others.
Perhaps so. But it does not pay to be complacent.
Blanco beat Jindal in ‘03 with 51.95% of the vote.
Suffice to say, Jindal won the next two!
However, the media has been ruthlessly beating up Jindal past year.
They also jumped on Scalice.
And Vitter also recently.
Voter turnout was surpressed by torential rains over the western half of the state. Bottom line, republicans 60%, democrats 40%. Republicans big problem is that Vitter is a poor candidate, both personally and politically, plus people are as sick of Jindal as national republicans are sick of Bushes and that rubs off on Vitter.
So no Dem victory in LA?
No relation.
The news idiots have forgotten that the rains of what was Hurricane Patricia came through this weekend, making it a certainty that LESS voters would turn out than the already expected less than average turnout.
The news idiots forgot to mention that a majority of offices up for election, were the incumbents running against themselves, only.
The news idiots forgot to report that state constitutional amendments were up for a vote.
