“If you treat your employees with respect and dignity, they will work doubly hard.”

Oddly, there was a brigade here back then that hated it on a knee jerk fashion. Like they wanted to see it fail. Very odd. I agree with you that treating your employees very well will pay off in spades.

So true.

When employees wake up and want to go to work rather than dread going to work it shows in the finished product or service.

I recall that debate, and it wasn’t knee-jerk wishing it would fail. It was fatalistic recognizing that the pay structure destroyed the incentive to try and work harder.

It is a microcosm of socialism - bringing extra value has no effect on one’s recompense.
