Red, thanks for posting that vintage photo. For years I've seen that photo floating around online. Due to my extensive research into my Welsh ancestry and heritage, and in noting a similarity of the black high hats worn by the elderly women in your photo, in comparison to the traditional hats worn by Welsh women beginning at least in the early 1800s, it was easy for me to assume that your vintage photo was a photo of rural Welsh women dressed in traditional Welsh outfits, and falsely labelled all over the internet as being a photo of a "coven of witches."
Although the hats are somewhat similar, it turns out that your vintage photo is actually a photo of elderly English, not Welsh, women who were member residents living out their twilight years at the (Christian) Hospital of the Holy and Undivided Trinity, of Castle Rising, located in Norfolk, England.
The Hospital of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Castle Rising was built in 1605 by Henry Howard, Earl of Nottingham.
Throughout the centuries, and to this day, elderly female residents of the Hospital of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Castle Rising, continue the custom of wearing what several sites labelled "traditional outfits" in celebration of Founder's Day.

I just thought that it was a funny, photo-shopped picture.
I'm also of Celtic descent.

Yes! And there was another New Monthly Donor and another 300-Club member!
That’s great that there are more in-coming tonight. It’s been slow today and I’m very tired. Work tomorrow and didn’t sleep well last night.

Thanks for the ping. As Winter approaches, I'm hoping to have more time to work on my Welsh language proficiency. My wife is a tireless family history researcher. She also has Welsh roots from the Pembroke area. My family lived mostly in the area of Ysbty Ystwyth, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn and Aberystwyth. I still have some cousins in Ystrad Meurig and Pontrhydygroes. Sadly, my friend Meredydd Evans passed early this year. He and his wife Phyllis Kinsley helped my track down some documents at the National Library of Wales. They were the original paper documents that made my great grandfather a "ward" of uncle in Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn. That opened the door to a huge volume in information about the rest of the family.
As much as I enjoyed my trips to Wales, the islamic invasion has put me off any more visits. It was wonderful to see it before it is destroyed by the savages.
