It appears the old adage holds true: when it comes to real estate, it’s all about location, location, location.

The wooden shack that was on sale for $350,000 in San Francisco’s trendy Outer Mission neighborhood is officially off the market. The deal for the 765-square-foot residence closed on Thursday, with a pair of investors nabbing the property for a cool $408,000, according to Vanguard realtors.

It makes a tiny house look humongous.

I can buy a 300 sq foot tiny house for a third of the cost.

Then again, you ARE paying for location in San Francisco.

What part of that was for the land?

One of my sheds, 20X24 cost $4,000 and it has a loft.

The land is valuable. The shack needs to go quite frankly.

You couldn’t pay me to live in it.

What part of that was for the land?

All of it. Just my $0.02.

Then again, you ARE paying for location in San Francisco. There is a danger that it might be a historic building, e.g. one of the post-earthquake refugee shacks or something...heheh

A tiny house can work... I’d take a pass on it.

It looks hideous.

Paid for the land? That’s an interesting thought
inasmuch as the shack cannot legally be moved or
razed. It’s been designated historical, so in theory
the land cannot be used for anything else.

If you can’t use the land, the investors are out $408,000.

That money can buy two good sized homes where I live.

It is historical. So what they paid so much for is purely location.
