Ahh, thank you DRF. Very nice. Beautiful people, inside and out, weren’t they.
They raised me.
The Quiet Man is epic.
I think I would have used my bare hand for that...
Wow...I thought she died many, many years ago.
One of my favorite stories about Ms. O’Hara was concerning “The Quiet Man”. She was told by director John Ford that, for the final scene, she needed to whisper something in John Wayne’s ear that would get his attention. She said “I’ve just the thing”. And, as you can see in the final scene, she leans over and whispers something in his ear, and he looks over at her with a slight look of shock, and she smiles at him then turns and walks towards the cottage, with him following.
She’s been asked in several interviews exactly what she said to him. She has said she would never reveal it, and would take the secret to her grave.
And now, she has.
I have to confess, that’s the scene I most remember her for.
the Quiet Man,
going to watch it now,
Rest in Peace.
The era of an era of simple beauty, strong values and a better world
God bless you Badge. That movie is unforgettable— a bond between all of us who loved it.
The fight scene is worth the price of a ticket. Loved it when she told John Wayne that she was going home to prepare dinner and to be along shortly. Then Wayne continues the fight with the brother, Loved it. Best yet, John brings home the brother after the fight for dinner. Just a great movie
Like I said, Classy Lady. Thanks for that little bit!
Amen. We mourn the loss of those awesome days of virtue and pride, beauty and labor.
Saw it also. Said to my wife, she was the most beautiful woman on the screen ever. Wonderful performance(s) and I fondly remember her as a classy lady.
Think we should bring back the stick to beat the lady. World would be safer and happier.

RIP.
Duke looks like he’s enjoying that a bit more than he oughta.
No Hollywood star ever shone brighter than Maureen O’Hara.
