Finally some of the mediots are telling us why Gas0h0l Pimp Carson is ahead in Iowa.

It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out Carson’s so called surge in in Corn Crazy Iowa.

Carson may be getting some of the gas0h0l $’s sent his way:

http://www.autoblog.com/2015/05/14/ben-carson-in-favor-of-scrapping-big-oil-subsidies-in-favor-of-e/

The 2016 presidential election is putting Iowa in the news a lot recently because a strong showing in the state’s early primary can give a big boost to campaigns. The location also gives us a chance to learn the candidates’ positions on the Renewable Fuel Standard and ethanol subsidies because the Hawkeye State is a major farming region, especially of corn. Republican hopeful Dr. Ben Carson recently made his feelings known as a definite supporter of the crop-based fuel.

“I don’t particularly like the idea of government subsidies for anything because it interferes with the natural free market,” Carson said to the Des Moines Register.

“’Therefore, I would probably be in favor of taking that $4 billion a year we spend on oil subsidies and using that in new fueling stations’ for 30-percent ethanol blends.” Carson predicted that under his plan gasoline would be 50 cents to 80 cents less expensive per gallon.

Carson could face serious pushback outside of Iowa, if he’s serious about offering a 30-percent ethanol blend. States like Hawaii and Oregon have been trying to pass laws to get rid of their 10-percent mix mandates, and Florida has already done so. The national debate over increasing the nationwide blend limit from E10, or 10 percent ethanol, to E15, is also already contentious.

As Hotair notes, Dr. Carson’s statement also seems contradictory. If he’s against government subsidies, then moving $4 billion from one place to another doesn’t really change anything.

Among the candidates in Iowa, Dr. Carson is hardly the only ethanol supporter, though. Hillary Clinton already signaled her support for the fuel and several Republican hopefuls did, as well.

Perhaps more importantly, RFS has not reduced carbon emissions—one of the primary objectives of the policy. Scientists at the University of Wisconsin found that the corn boom has released as much carbon dioxide as 34 coal power plants in one year. It turns out ethanol is not carbon-neutral, as promised, and it actually worsens gas mileage, making cars less fuel-efficient and worse for the environment.

An important piece of information to have: Has Trump come out AGAINST ethanol?

If he has, well, there’s a large part of the explanation for why Carson is overtaking him in Iowa.

The top three in Iowa include RFS supporters Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.

America needs a brain surgeon, or a failed CEO like they need a Hitlery Klinton.

Trump is also an RFS supporter.

Corn should be eaten. It makes a lousy fuel that ruins engines.

Good article. And it highlights a litmus test as to the character of a candidate. If you are pro-ethanol, you are, as Freeper ChildOfThe60s so delicately put it, a political whore.

No he hasn't. Trump unequivocally supports the renewable fuel standards which are the home of ethanol subsidies.

Donald Trump supports Renewable Fuel Standard

As far as I know only Ted Cruz and Rand Paul have opposed ethanol subsidies.

Thanks for the information.

They can’t blame ethanol for Trump falling behind Carson in Iowa then.

Exactly what they’re looking to do. Keep the peasants in huts one step from starvation and feed them enough to keep them alive and ‘grateful’

Like food stamps and welfare are to the po’ right now.

My early years were spent at my grandpa’s house that had no running water, it had REA electricity, and no plumbing. I remember taking bath’s in a galvanized tub with water heated off a coal belly stove. I also remember the outhouse.

I really wouldn’t want to spend my end years reliving that.

The ethanol industry could produce more ethanol so their lobbyists have been buying politicians and trying to sway public support for E15.

Carson’s been polling well in Iowa because he’s been whoring to the farm lobby re corn and illegals.
