David Gergen's mysterious usefulness to a succession of Republican and Democratic Presidents will almost stand comparison with the mystical utility of the Reverend Billy Graham to Eisenhower and Nixon, Carter and Clinton. The self-satirizing summa of all this is the bizarre marriage of Mary Matalin and James Carville, who actually contrived to run opposing presidential campaigns in 1992 while still, at the end of the day, proving that the two parties were essentially in bed together. ......"

Bingo. And we can hold out hope that the line of inquiry by a seasoned criminal federal prosecutor follows this trail. It is also why they have harangued (the dems on committee) to release the June 3rd Blumenthal transcript— the one the details of which have no doubt already been leaked to the clintoonin foundation by Mr. Blumenthal. We need the NSA on this... the lock is NOT on. Integrity— and the FBI not being cut out.

When Blumenthal finally landed a job in the Clinton White House, the most frequently told joke in Washington was about how he could finally collect his back pay. One of his chief tasks in the White House was to lie to reporters about the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the independent counsel’s investigation. He infamously claimed that a grand jury had interrogated him about private conversations with journalists. He made it up.
This is precisely how Blumenthal sees the world: a contest between enlightened rulers and evil ones, where power requires making up your own rules. “If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself,” observed Hermann Hesse. “What isn’t part of ourselves doesn’t disturb us.”
And that’s what makes him Clinton’s indispensable man.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has come to Max Blumenthal’s defense against the wretched smear campaign propagated by neoconservatives and Rush Limbaugh that seeks to connect him to the murders outside Kansas City Jewish organizations a week ago. SPLC’s David Neiwert has a “Hatewatch” piece up (that somewhat echoes our excellent piece by Alex Kane and Phan Nguyen) and shows the extent to which the slurs are motivated by Blumenthal’s work on Israel:

Neo-Nazis have found Max Blumenthal’s left-wing anti-semitism quite useful and VNN’s forums follow Blumenthal’s career. Blumenthal is likewise popular on Stormfront with over 100 mentions.
After these shootings, it’s time for The Nation’s Katrina vanden Heuvel to take some responsibility for promoting the culture of hate spread by Max Blumenthal and its role in the Kansas City murders.

The neo-Nazi and former Ku Klux Klan leader in custody for a murder spree at two Kansas Jewish community centers has frequently cited the work of anti-Israel activist Max Blumenthal, the son of Hillary Clinton adviser Sidney Blumenthal.
The accused killer, Frazier Glenn Cross, runs the VNN Forum, a prominent white supremacist website devoted to exposing what its contributors believe is a Jewish conspiracy controlling America.
In “Kikes gone wild by Jew Max Blumenthal,” VNN forum members praise a Blumenthal video that features unflattering interviews with Israelis.
Another thread promotes a video by Blumenthal whose title is so fitting for the neo-Nazi forum that it was posted under the title Blumenthal himself had for it: “How To Kill Goyim And Influence People.”
Nothing worse in the minds of religious pro-Israel Jews is a self-hating jew—ish activist. It is a special subset well known to devout conservative Jews. Pamela Geller has spoken about them, esp. as regards the islamofascists coopting of them.
