I said that they knew that their false commandments were of no spiritual value. Their words and actions prove that to be so.
You need to look carefully at Yeshua’s interactions with them to get a grip on this. He declared all that they did and said to be false, and they never attempted to refute him.
They were angry that he was upsetting their applecart, but never offered any scriptural refutation of his words directed at them. They clearly knew that he was who he declared himself to be, and yet only a small handful of them chose to follow him.
