The premise of this discussion is that the government is deliberately lying about inflation. Therefore it would seem to me that a good debate practice would be to rely on figures outside of that very same Obama government control... but I guess they do things differently in Chicago, eh?
At this point, there is nothing for it than to go to the Library and get copies of prices as posted in the newspapers in 2007, compare them to prices of 2015, calculate the difference, and post them here.
