‘I don’t much better regard for the freedom caucus. None of them ever tried to fight until it was a repub president. None challenged Ryan for speaker, and in fact they supported him for speaker.’

An excellent point too infrequently made. The FC failed to challenge Obama on even his worst excesses and most unconstitutional maneuvers. However, I’d support them to the hilt right now if they united to call for Ryan to step aside.

If only. I won’t hold my breath.

I would pay money to a fund to get rid of Ryan.

That said, the issue with healthcare is one that conservatives are refusing to admit: Donald Trump is a moderate on health care. He said so. He said he wouldn’t let the poor die in the streets.

He’s conservative on the border, taxes, ISIS, immigration, jobs, etc., but he’s always been a moderate on health care for the poor.

In my opinion, he wouldn’t have supported the clean repeal touted by the freedom caucus. It never would have reached his desk, though, because Murkowski, Collins, Portman, and other senators would have killed it in the senate before it got to him.
