Accidents like his are why we all wear seat belts today. The car stops but you don’t.
yeah....I’ve unfortunately witnessed two other people die in this same way. (broken neck) and both were in the back seat and no belts.
Patton also was not a big man, so his upper body likely had way more mass and thus the headlong dive into the metal supports that are located just behind the front seat.
These cars were designed to accommodate maps and charts for two to three people to go over while driving. As I said the back seat area was huge,,,
