When they removed the beef tallow from the french fries, it cost them a fortune. FF are very high profit, and they were bad, like every other Fast food fry.
Nothing fried in oil is edible anymore. No fries, mcnugggets or hash browns. They all taste like baking soda now.
The irony here is that the militant vegetarians who screamed about the beef tallow would never have set foot in a McDonalds restaurant anyhow.
All because a Hindu sued them for not having stated that there was beef fat in the shortening and then rather than lose the huge cow worshipper market they buckled under to the minority. Some will tell you that McD's changed the shortening to buckle under to the trans fat fascists, but that's just an excuse.
They don’t even salt them properly anymore.

MacDonalds wanted to be everything for everyone. That is an impossible goal. Cut out the stupid apple slices that have been in the packages for months and are still white. Bring back the 2 all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce,cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun.
Oh, and their old fries were delicious.
The lefties got to them and as always, corrupted the brand.
What’s sad about all of this is the health nuts never ate there in the first place. It was nanny liberal.
It’s because the prices are too high for a fast food plus competing with many more fast food, such as panera, chipolte,salad works, etc. They serve “healthier” food for not much more.
I was at McD’s the other day. My daughter and I for lunch cost $12 and some cents. It’s not cheap anymore. We had sandwiches, shared fries and soda.
McD’s have also catered to one segment of society and apparently they don’t eat there often enough.
