It was happily an oriental bent to be studious. When quality control methodologies came to Japan, to Korea, even to China, they said Ah this makes sense thank you Father Deming.
India — jury’s out on this one still.
We'll ship all of our jobs to you so our rich big businesses can get richer and we'll get nothing in return and dupe the people by calling it fair free trade...Yah, big nightmare...
Yes. Funny how practically no one speaks of tariffs as a revenue-generating device. Nowadays, they’re about “saving jobs.” Not what the Founders intended at all.
It's only going to be used to ferry him to and from the airport. It's not like WWIII is going to be fought from it.
Another waste of money on extravagant Presidential trappings.
IIRC The contract was originally awarded to a consortium that included Bell or Boeing working with an Italian company (Augusta?).
That award was eventually cancelled,in part, due to criticism that the VIP helicopter was being manufactured overseas.
Someone please help me fill in the blanks here.
AugustaWestland (sp?) and Lockheed had the 1st contract. airframe was by Augusta and assembly and electronics by Lockheed. Owego, NY.
Ok...Can we make Jaguars here and they can make the choppers...I Have to say I love fast swoopy throaty cars as much as I love the smell of hydraulic fluid and the slumber inducing whomp whomp of a helicopter.
Exactly!
And as broke as this country has become thanks to lobbyists and corrupt politicians, as far as my one hundred millionth share (taxpaying adults) is concerned, this President and future Presidents can take a cab to the airport.
The fact that they are ordering 23 of them is the best “poster child” moment there is regarding what is wrong with this country’s government.
SR-71 = junk
U-2 = junk
F117A = junk
F-22 = junk
F-16 = junk (ok, GD designed it, but LM still builds ‘em)
C-141 = junk
C-130 = junk
C-5 = junk (GE engines were a nightmare to work, but overall...)
yeah, I can see where one would get the idea that Lockheed only supplies “overpriced junk” for decades...
It was and can still be done in the U.S. but the manufacturing has been shipped elsewhere for corporate budgetary reasons. Hope the quality is the same but I wouldn’t necessarily bet on that in the long run.
It ought to still be done here, just like the sensitive defense systems that have been sent out for overseas manufacture.

That’s how many the original program were slated for. 23 VH-92s will also replace the other types of HMX-1 (H-53/H-60) support aircraft.
When I am President, I’m flying commercial (1st class of course!)
Our President isn’t a monarch that deserves such a ride.
Well, they pretty much sound alike on the phone... but it’s the Hindus that are responsible for Zero as in 0123...
And there is a politician willing to defend every one of these boondoggles. The procurement system is a mess. It has been completely politicized.
Thanks for confirming what I suspected.
Have a nice day.
