The Texas boy arrested for bringing to school a homemade clock that was mistaken for a bomb is moving to Qatar, his family said on Tuesday, a few hours after he was at the White House for an astronomy night hosted by President Barack Obama.
Ahmed Mohamed, 14, a bespectacled ninth-grader who became an Internet sensation for an arrest that supporters said was influenced by bias against his Muslim religion, has accepted an offer from the Qatar Foundation to study at its Young Innovators Program.
"This means, that we, as a family, will relocate to Qatar where Ahmed will receive a full scholarship for secondary and undergraduate education," his family said in a statement.

Sounds a bit extreme.
Can I call him and his family extremists now?

I just find it to be an extreme response to up and move all the way to Qatar after a “simple misunderstanding” and even glowing positive response from the mainstream media and President of the Estados Unidos.

Kid gets full scholarship to school and so entire family is moving to Qatar. Dad and the rest of the clan going to be on the dole?
I did not get a full ride to my university, but if I had, I’m pretty sure my parents wouldn’t have walked away from their lives to indulge me. You want them, Qatar? They’re all yours (and with the thanks of the city of Irving and the state of Texas.

Huh. That’s funny. Conservatives were making this kid and his family out as Mohammedan rabble-rousers. It didn’t look good when he met with the war-criminal Sudanese president, and now the Qatari government is paying for his private school education.
Is it possible that Barak Hussein Obama was playing along with a hoax?
It doesn’t matter now. The media cycle is over and this story is going down the memory hole.

For most people...getting new jobs, packing an entire household, saying goodbye to friends, and moving even just 100 miles away is a very big deal. It seems that the Mohamed family was surprisingly comfortable making this decision in the midst of getting White House invitations, full-scholarship offers, and being lavishly feted by technology CEOs?
There is more to this story. That bomb/clock episode was designed to make decent Americans "second guess" themselves while observing suspicious activity by radicalized Islamic jihadists. The fact that well-known Liberals were instantly involved leaves me feeling like it was orchestrated at the highest levels.
