Let ‘em go. Good riddance. Also . . . I thought Ryan has said he has no intention of being Speaker. Did I miss something?

While I do agree that corruption and self serving are the rules of the day in politics, there are, still, those who can distinguish between a true threat and those who can not.
Moderates are moderates because they have no ability to decide which trenchline they belong in. Or, they’re stupid enough to believe that wandering around in no-man’s land is a proper place during a winner take all type war.

Oliver Cromwell to the Rump Parliament, 1653 Great rant, and historic. I've seen it a couple of times before, people do quote him.
Overlooking that Cromwell was a hopelessly cruel scourge to my Irish ancestors.....

More like "degenerate Republicans". But that is what high-dollar politicking does to politics and people.

Idiots. No, it makes sense. I'm guessing that the reason why RINOs are RINOs is that they get lots of "under the table" benefits from not really opposing the Dems, on issues the Dems find important.
In exchange for non-opposition, the RINOs get to take money from lobbyists, have mistresses, do drugs, etc, and the media will take no interest and nobody will say a word. I suspect that the RINO club got an ultimatum from the Dems: if you allow in a Speaker who will actually oppose our agenda, then the gravy train gets derailed.
So the RINOs say "fine". If we can't continue business-as-usual, then there's no point in staying.

All politics is local -- the Demwits however have a party-line loyalty that appeals to people who prefer a single party state, and have the media to build memes like "gridlock" and "guardians of gridlock" etc.
