Russian aircraft in Syria have carried out 55 sorties and attacked 60 terrorist facilities over the past day, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday.
"After combat tasks were completed, all Russian aircraft returned to the Khmeimim airbase," Konashenkov told journalists.
He said strikes at terrorist facilities in the provinces of Hama, Latakia, Damascus, Idlib, Aleppo and Deir-ez-Zor are made by Su-24M bombers, Su-25SM attack aircraft and state-of-the-art Su-34 aircraft.
On Monday, Russian aircraft made 33 sorties against 49 facilities in five Syrian provinces.
Konashenkov noted Russian Aerospace Force’s air grouping in Syria have destroyed 19 command posts of the Islamic State terrorist organization in the past twenty-four hours.
"The air strikes have destroyed two ammunition depots, one plant for the production of ammunition and explosives and 30 firing positions and hardware concentration over the past twenty-four hours," the spokesman said.
The Russian warplanes also destroyed nine fortified areas located in underground facilities in the Hama province, the general said.

I don’t think the terrorists believe he is exaggerating.
The number of sorties flown is fully within the capability of the 50 or aircraft participating in the mission.
Each day the Russian strikes are documented with extensive video footage; countless cell phone videos from those on the receiving end are on YouTube. How much video documentation have we seen of US airstrikes over the past year-plus from DOD?
The sorties are carried out under the watchful eyes of US/Western aerial intelligence and I have not heard them challenging the figures.

Cheer them on if you wish. But It’s better for the US and Israel if Syria were a haven for radical Muslims than for Iranians and Russians who’ll use Syria as a a launch point against Israel and Saudi Arabia. Establishing a no fly zone over Syria wouldn’t be difficult. One carrier task force could do it. Time to put pipsqueak Putin and the mullahs back in their box.
