Paul Ryan will meet with members of the House Freedom Caucus Tuesday afternoon, the surest sign he is seriously considering a bid for House speaker, according to multiple sources familiar with the gathering. The meeting will take place ahead of a full gathering of the House Republican Conference at 7 p.m.

Yep. I wonder how many FReepers will sign up, and cash a check from Rove, or the CoC ? : )
You mean how many MORE right?
Yeah, how many MORE. My bad : )
I suppose there is a possibility they were all here already. God knows it seems like it at times.
I actually enjoy catching them. Not as much fun as fishing off the deep near San Diego, but fun nonetheless.
Why not combine your two great loves? It’s a Resse’s kinda thing. To great tastes that go great together.
Take them off the Deep end of SD and leave them there.
So, Norm, about that unicorn suit thing.....
Now that IS a better plan.
I thought I cut a sharp figure in my hooves..
Hey I’m an idea guy. It’s what I do ;)
One good thing regards the 14 elections is that people learned that there was more of them (conservative voters) than let on by the DBM.
Very true.
Yeah, I think Greg Gutfeld wants your private number.
And you’ll get who to be Speaker now? We need to coalesce around a viable candidate who is the most conservative we can get. That’s not the most conservative, but the most conservative we can get. The GOP is a coalition and you have to pull it together.
You do that by wisely following a course of compromise on items important to you that move the ball our way. That’s Politics 101 and how republics work. We don’t have to votes to install our “guy” whoever that is since FReepers cannot coalesce around a single “perfect” candidate.
So the smart thing to do is to garner immediate gains in exchange for voting for the guy with the most votes. He’s going to win anyway. If it’s Ryan, then hold him to his promises - committee assignments, particularly in leadership, would be outstanding - that way you can move legislation ahead that we like, especially when/if we get a GOP SCOTUS.
Stop the handwringing as if we aren’t winning. We’re winning and blocking the most radical, anti-American President ever. He makes Carter look competent. The goal here is to win.
Believe it or not the GOP has gotten Dem votes on issues important to conservatives. You have to pick your battles. In the end, America gets the government its people vote for. We’re in the minority, but get more done than you’d think given what we’re up against.
Stop the handwringing nonsense. The GOP is doing exactly what it can do, given the coalition it is. Departing here for some fairyland of conservative greatness isn’t realistic. You need to kill the government school union to Democrat cabal one dollar at a time. It is happening now, stick it out.
Keep in mind half the garbage or more that we read here is via the MSM that absolutely is working against us and wants to see us divided and flailing.
Bullshit. They could do what Reid/pelosi did and rule the house and senate and force their will.
you don’t sit on power. You wield it. Like a freaking hammer.
Repubs on the other hand, are the enemy of dems. Just ask their front runner, lol.
Yeah. Prove us wrong... PLEASE!
Never underestimate the capacity for a Republican to step on his own junk. Often. With great joy in the suffering.
