Smart power. So much smart power. I don't know if anyone has ever tapped into this much smart power before.
Picture a nerd screeching about "smart power" while the school bullies beat him up and you've got a picture of Obama's awesome smart power foreign policy. America's enemies now make a special point of humiliating him after each fake agreement and deal.
Iran tests ballistic missiles and convicts a US reporter right after ratifying the nuke deal. And China makes a point of slapping Obama around right after his latest fake agreement with China.
It was heralded as the first concrete step taken by the United States and China on the thorny issue of cyberespionage.
With President Xi Jinping of China beside him at a news conference in the White House Rose Garden last month, President Obama said the two had come to an agreement that China and the United States would refrain from cyberattacks aimed at pilfering company intellectual property or trade secrets for commercial advantage.
Less than a day after that announcement and after Mr. Xi had met in Seattle with the executives of leading American technology companies, a hacking group accused of having links to the Chinese government attacked one such company, looking for trade secrets.
But... but smart power. There was a deal and everything. By a Nobel Peace Prize winner.
In announcing the agreement, Mr. Obama said the United States would be watching carefully to see if the accord led to progress, and he did not rule out economic sanctions against Chinese companies if the cyberattacks continued.
And in return, China did not rule out laughing in his face.
But if this goes on long enough... Obama may actually evict some of the Chinese secret police terrorizing Chinese nationals... in America. Not all of the Chinese secret police. That would be going too far and we mustn't offend the PRC.
Mr. Alperovitch did not write that the continued hacks were evidence that the deal had failed, though he called for the Obama administration to explain what it expected the agreement to accomplish.
Something to tell donors to get them off his back.
America has become powerless under Obama. It can't get anything done and the Democratic Party's agenda is written by social justice warrior clowns who are big on free stuff but know nothing about foreign affairs. Senator Webb was laughed at when he discussed cybersecurity as a national security threat. Buffoons like Bernie Sanders were applauded for claiming that Global Warming was a national security threat.
Why shouldn't China slap us around? Our leaders are criminals, fanatics, liars and idiots. Theirs are just criminals which gives them an advantage.
If China wanted to shut down such efforts, it would have. It's a centralized totalitarian state with a huge security apparatus. Instead it put on a show, arresting a few hackers for plausible deniability, while keeping the attacks coming.
The world laughs at Obama the idiot.
We no hack you, Obama!
Must be someone else!
(Insert stifled Oriental laughter here)
Hacked by Chinee! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Those people are not laughing WITH your, Mr. Obama, they are laughing AT you.
LMAO....he’s got his head so far up his butt he doesn’t know what day it is or what planet he’s on....
When it comes to foreign policy, Obama is the mannequin in the window. His mind is elsewhere because he wants to concentrate all his firepower on the REAL enemies: Americans who disagree with him.
+1!
He’s got his head so far up his butt he needs a tow truck to pull it out.
