My prediction is Paul Ryan withdraws his name for consideration before Halloween. It is possible for Boehner to extend the voting period by a few weeks, before congress stops their session during the holidays. Paul is content with what he’s been doing the last few years, and is still smarting from the capital disappointment of the 2012 election. Ryan does not have the will or stomach for an open war with the Tea Party. He’ll stop returning calls by John Boehner, and even Mitt’s calls won’t be promptly returned like before.

Mittens seemed to hedge today with Jake Tapper about Ryan running for Speaker...said Ryan is also needed down the road as POTUS...seemed like a signal that Ryan will ultimately demur on the Speaker gig...
