I’m not much for believing in the conversions of 65 year old men to conservatism. Especially liars, especially short of a religious conversion. He hasn’t self-reported a religious conversion, so I’ll assume one didn’t happen.
In a case like this, it seems more likely that he’s still a liberal, and is just lying to us, or that he never had any principles at all. And then once in office, we’ll have no idea what he’ll do. I know that whatever he does, he will benefit and even if he blatantly sells us down the river, he will convince the cultists, of which there are many, that he’s doing it all for them.
