9/11 was a surprise attack. Even if there were intelligent reports saying that something big was about to happen, it was hard to take them seriously because at the time, the country was at peace. Pax Americana, you forgot.

Trump is correct. If the premise is true that Bush 2 ‘kept us safe’ from 9/12/01 going forward, then it is plain truth that this particular obligation began on 1/20/01.
The attack goes to underscore PRECISELY how important immigration, visas, border controls and so on REMAIN.
