If every establishment candidate got out of the race and united behind one figure (Bush, Rubio, whoever), their combined total wouldn't equal Trump, Cruz and Carson. And odds are that Trump's numbers would just go up as I've heard many a Bushbot say they'd never go for Rubio, Rubiobots say they'll never vote for Bush, etc.

Carson just implodes if you share with people what he's actually said on the campaign trail, so really, the establishment's choices are to back Cruz or just watch Trump walk away with it. Neither choice is acceptable to them.

What an awful time for a campaign bundler... So much money that's not hitting the table as donors wait to see their candidate pick up steam.

Please stop lying to yourself and others. Carson is out raising all the other GOP candidates in small donor money specifically BECAUSE people are listening and liking. Trash talking Carson may make you feel all profound and wise, it just makes you look like an idiot who has no clue what he is talking about.

I have friends who are in the political industry.

Trump terrifies them at a deep level. They (the polisci guys) are paid for by corporate and big donors. Now one of those donors just decided to play the game directly.
