Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ben Carson are threatening to boycott the next GOP debate over its proposed format, underscoring a rare political alliance between the leading outsider candidates. In a joint letter to CNBC's Washington bureau chief Thursday, the billionaire businessman and retired neurosurgeon told the hosting network they will not appear at the Oct. 28 debate unless it's capped at two hours with commercials and the candidates are allowed to speak directly to the camera at its opening and close.

“Anything to stop Cruz I guess. God forbid someone have to answer a question with substance instead of just rhetoric and clever witticisms.”
I agree with you. If Mr. Trump and Mr. Carson cannot handle a long debate, then let them stay home.
Carson is a good man, but he is not presidential material. Trump is neither a good man or presidential material.
Trump is all bombast and showman....he is not remotely ready to lead a country (that “CEO” stuff doesn’t work in a republic - he would be dictatorial). Dr. Carson, while a gifted surgeon and truly a decent human being, is not someone that should be CinC....not a be a practicing pacifist as a Seventh Day Adventist. Plus, he is out of his arena in politics. I fear Trump would start a war with his big mouth and Carson would let his pacifist brand of Christianity keep him from fighting when necessary.
Cruz has substance (in many areas), and some of the others that have been pushed aside by the King Trump phenom should have more time before the public. (I don’t mean the GOPe faithful).
I like both Trump and Carson but that ticket wouldn’t work with two total outsiders, neither of whom has held even the lowest elective office. It’s gotta be one or the other, then bring in someone who at least knows where the key to the men’s room is. Or how to get a bill introduced and passed. Two outsiders is not good, as popular as being an outsider is today.
Schumer? If Trump gets in, he’ll have all the data and intel on these folks. Hopefully they’ll head to the tall grass fast when that happens to avoid even worse beat downs.
“I think its going to be a Trump/Carson ticket.”
I think that is a train wreck. A obnoxious, egocentric, loud mouth with a pacifist surgeon sidekick.....wonderful...not!
Cruz is the only candidate with any real depth. Even the GOPe undesirables are more acceptable than a Trump/Carson ticket. BTW - It does pain me to feel compelled to speak ill of Dr. Carson. He is genuine, but not right to serve in high office. Trump is making fools out of conservatives that are supporting him.
He sounded stern ..."The networks are making a fortune off this stuff," Trump said. "I wonder why."
Watch the Greta interview here:
I would love to see Ted Cruz as president. He’s conservative, strong, doesn’t “go along to get along” and is a committed Christian.
I fear, however, that these are not the qualifications that the masses are looking at. I think it’s a different population out there, sadly.
Actually, I’d love to see Ted Cruz as the new Valerie Jarrett. That’s a lot of power!
“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father which is in Heaven.” (Matthew 18:19)
Wow. They’re trying to use him but then they turn around and trash him.
It is time to limit participation in the next Republican debate to only those candidates that have over 5% in a recent legitimate national poll.
TIME TO CUT BAIT!
Maybe that’s it. I’ll have to be more careful posting. Thanks.
Good move. Glad to see the Donald & Carson dictating terms, not the other way around. Go Trump!
:)
It’ll be interesting to see how DT plays this.
My prediction is, that he won’t let *anyone* use him. We’ll see how this all plays out.
I think the 2 or 3 hour broadcast has less to do about the attention span of the audience and more about DT feeling he is being *used* to benefit MSNBC.
Ridiculous. Nothing new or earth shaking is going to be learned from manipulated debates. Especially debates run by very biased moderators with their own agendas. The MSM is now a participant in the debates. Everyone knows they're corrupt manipulated and controlled, and it's got one target. The same target who told America most in the media are lie, are biased and corrupt.
And you want these orchestrated political game shows to be longer so these corrupt networks can run more commercials to make more $$ off their target?
Come on.
I think the 2 or 3 hour broadcast has less to do about the attention span of the audience and more about DT feeling he is being *used* to benefit MSNBC.

I agree.
Let’s meet back here after the dust settles. ;
Most folks know diddly.
And who knows whether people change their minds or not. Given the low IQ of most Trumpsters (i.e. Ron Paul retreads) odds are the electorate is too ignorant to save the country.
When the leader of your Trumpster PING list says this, that’s all one has to know about why Trump is where he is. Trump is a liberal trying to pass himself off as some kind of populist.
All the Trumpsters point to the scoreboard and how Trump “can win” because he can “get votes other than conservatives”, yet nobody bothers to explain how it is exactly that Trump accomplishes this. Does he do it by moving to the right? I think not.
Here’s what CNN had to say. More proof the Ron Paul people are out and about and promoting this hysteria of a fake conservative.

So Obamacare is necessary, abortion doesn’t matter, and high tariffs/protectionism is the key to a strong economy?
And that platform is different from Sanders, Warren, or Clinton how?
Sounds good to me!
