A friend of mine who lives across the street from a park noticed a car repeatedly parked on her street and the owner spending a lot of time in the park. She felt very uncomfortable and was concerned for her young sons. We contacted a police officer friend who started watching the guy. It turned out the guy was gay and frequented the park and the men's restroom for sex with strangers. As far as I know he was not a child predator, but I would not have allowed my sons to go into the restroom alone.
I understand the writer's side of the story. However, I also know that it is wise to go with your gut instincts. If you feel creeped out by someone, there is more often than not a good reason for it.
