In a Chapman University poll of 1541 adult Americans about their fears and anxieties, number one by a country mile, with 58%, was the fear of corrupt government officials. This is yet another piece of the puzzle that explains why our media is so out of touch and why our pundits have been so wrong about everything for so long.

Maybe Americans are smarter than I gave them credit for. Then again, the top 2 candidates have never held political office.
Corrupt = untrustworthy and oppressive, lets not forget exactly what government corruption is.
Republican takeover in 2016? All of a sudden, the media is reporting on corruption again. Imagine that!
Corruption I can handle, it is the oppression and utter treasonous act of giving our country away that concern me.
Root Cause:
Americans #1 fear is government.
Maybe experience should be a disqualifying factor.
It seems like experience in “getting things done” is accompanied by corruption.
: )
Well here’s the contradiction...
People don’t trust government, and hate government corruption, yet they keep electing their same congressmen over and over, frequently because he’s done something for them, “fixed” their social security problem, “helped” with some alphabet agency etc.
The system is rigged so that you have to call your Senator or Congressman to fix a problem, sooner or later, and when you do, most people return the favor by voting for them, even if they don’t like them.
Casework is a big part of corruption, and a big part of why changing Congress is so hard.
So my question is who are the 42% that think govt is just hunky dory? :-)
“Maybe experience should be a disqualifying factor.”
Our Founding Fathers would whole heartedly concur.
Government is afraid, and that’s good. Yesterday, the Dept. of Homeland Security announced a push to establish a network of U.S. Federal Attorneys to root out terrorist and “anti-government” ideas on social media. RUH-ROE. Buckle your seat belts, patriots. The Bill of Rights is on its way to being declared subversive by the federal government.
Well, it's either of two things.
Either the 42% work for the government and want to keep the corruption under wraps, or the 58% work for the government and know it's corrupt because they're on the inside and see it up close.
