I cringe when I see the word "entitlement" attached to Social Security and Medicare. While those who paid in are entitled to their benefit, "entitlement" is more frequently used in the pejorative these days; sense of entitlement. We should push to change the verbiage, control the language, win the argument.
JMHO, I hate seeing SS & MC lumped in with the freeloading funds.

You can't change the law by "changing the verbiage".
Benefits are only connected to payments by the law. The law can be changed, or repealed entirely. You have no "right" to benefits -- only the promise.
