Live like a monk your whole life afraid of spending anything, never going anywhere or buying anything really nice. Scrimp and save. Then when you are 65 you have that magic million and live another 10 -15 years worrying if you will out live it. What a world we live in when you think about it.
The converse is to live like their is no tomorrow and drive that new car and take that vacation. Who's to say who is right?

Doesn’t seem right at all does it?
Shouldn’t there be a better way?

Who's to say who is right? I seem to remember a story about Groucho Marx. He lost everything in the Crash and was sitting in his dressing room, very depressed. His brother, Chico, came in and said something to the effect that there he sat, broke, and Chico was always broke. So, who had more fun? Apparently, Groucho sat for a moment, then got up and they did their show that night.
