I read wikipedia on it. And they said they had polled 400 native Americans in California and 65% found it offensive. Hardly a representative poll.

I think they should leave it up to the tribal councils. If a majority of the tribal councils want the name changed, then change it. No point in offending them if they are really offended.

But we shouldn’t erase all memory of native Americans from our culture just because some liberal claims to have done a small poll, either.

Not a representative poll at all, but that never stopped them. Sonoma county did a survey trying to find discrimination against homosexuals and found none. Not to be deterred, they recommissioned the survey at great expense (millions) because it did not mesh with their belief.
