I never fully understood Kentucky politics. The Commonwealth tends to vote GOPe for President and Congress but Democrat for State offices.

The majority here are still “My Daddy was a Democrat…” and the majority still believe the lie that the Democrats are the party of the ‘little guy’. This is NOT a Red State as some would like to think. It is a YELLOW state. Yellow-Dog Democrat to be precise.

They tend to vote Conservative on national issues, but for local - if you are not a Democrat - it is highly unlikely you can even get elected dog catcher.

However, in a post-Constitutional Amerika - elections no longer really matter.

The donor class doesn’t seem to open their wallets for the state candidates, which I don’t particularly understand - they are only setting up the Federal office holders to have stronger opponents in the future.
