Syrian forces backed by Hezbollah militants from Lebanon are said to have made significant advances against rebels after heavy Russian air strikes.
Government gains are being reported in Idlib, Hama and Latakia provinces.
Russia says its aircraft carried out more than 60 missions over Syria in the past 24 hours, and that the Islamic State group was its main target.
But the Russian strikes appear to have impacted heavily on rebels fighting both the government and IS.
The main battlefront is currently close to the key highway that links the capital Damascus with other major cities, including Aleppo, and President Bashar al-Assad's forces are believed to be seeking to cut off rebels in Idlib

Just goes to show.....if nothing else, Putin is consistent----he backed Egyptian president al Sisi in throwing the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics.
Putin also backed al Sisi when the Egyptian president vowed to rebuild the churches and Christian businesses destroyed by the Muslim savages.

IMHO, we need to reconsider the geopolitical equation here ASAP. It's worth contemplating that the "Assad is a Bogeyman" agit-prop came from the ding-a-ling in the WH.
It's impossible to put any credence in what he puts out there......especially considering the Ntl Security airheads he's surrounded by. Know-nothings....Susan Rice, Marie Harf....even O's campaign driver, Tommy The Dude Vietor, got ntl security clearance.
These lamebrains never lifted a finger to oust ISIS. On the contrary, they allowed these savages to prosper....and are now busily resettling the Christian-hating beheaders into the US.

That ding-a-ling in the White House is Sunni. ISIS is Sunni. Al Queada is Sunni. Whatever Assad is he is being protected by Shiites. Why get rid of Assad? Same reason Ghaddafi Duck was assassinated and Egypt went through a revolution. It’s to give ISIS a clear path to Russia through Turkey, which is no longer secular, meaning it is now a threat to Russia.
ISIS is a freaking Virus and Obama is patient zero.
